Hair colour · Highlights · Tonal refinement

Successful hair colour does not begin with a colour chart, but with a close look at your natural shade, existing pigments, hair condition and desired result. At Haarstudio Style in Klagenfurt, we use this information to develop a realistic colour plan – whether you need a neat root refresh, dimensional highlights, tonal refinement or a gradual change.

01

Clarifying your starting point and colour goal together

Before colouring, we assess the roots, mid-lengths and ends separately. Previous colour, lightening, plant-based dyes or intensive tints can affect which shades can now be achieved evenly and with an appropriate process. Please tell us about these treatments even if they took place several months ago.

Reference images help us understand the brightness, temperature and contrast you have in mind. We then adapt that direction to your skin tone, hair structure and the level of maintenance that is realistic for your routine. An identical result to somebody else’s photograph cannot be promised as a standard outcome.

02

Root colour, all-over colour or highlights?

A root colour is designed to refresh targeted regrowth. All-over colour changes the overall impression, while highlights introduce light, depth and movement in selected areas. Depending on your goal, we may combine techniques instead of automatically treating every section of hair in the same way.

Fine highlights create a softer, more diffused result, while stronger sections introduce deliberate contrast. Their placement, width and spacing are adapted to the cut and the way the hair falls, so the colour looks balanced not only when freshly finished in the salon, but also as the hair moves.

03

Tone, shine and harmonious transitions

After lightening, or between larger colour appointments, a toner can soften unwanted warmth, refresh a nuance and bring the overall colour together more calmly. The most suitable formula depends on the level of lightness already present and the pigments remaining in the hair.

There are also different approaches to blending or covering white hair: a more opaque result, a deliberately translucent finish or a softer transition into the natural shade. We discuss the effect you prefer and how visible you are comfortable with the regrowth becoming between appointments.

04

Planning time, materials and price transparently

The amount of work depends on hair length and density, the starting colour, desired lightness, chosen technique and quantity of product. The amounts on our price list are therefore guide prices. Before an extensive change, we explain the likely range and openly discuss whether more than one stage may be appropriate.

Strong lightening cannot be carried out responsibly in one appointment for every starting point. If several stages make more sense, we prioritise the hair’s condition and an even progression. Additional care or corrective balancing is not added without discussing it with you first.

05

Keeping your colour well cared for at home

Suitable cleansing, moderate water temperature, heat protection and gentle handling of the mid-lengths and ends can support shine and the way the hair feels. We explain the few steps that matter for your colour without expecting an unnecessarily complicated routine.

When requesting an appointment, please say whether you need a root refresh, all-over colour, highlights or a larger correction. For a significant change, a short note about your colour history helps us estimate the appointment length more accurately.
